Chloe Moretz as Carrie

This 'Carrie' remake sure is rolling along quite nicely. First with news of Chloe Grace-Moretz taking the titular lead, and now the teen scream film gets a release date.

And you better start looking for your dates now because it's just in time for prom... next year.

Box Office Mojo has gotten word that 'Carrie' will hit theaters March 15, 2013. Spring is a lovely time both literally and metaphorically -- a time for prom, new beginnings, and that special seasonal time in a young lady's life when her proverbial flower blooms, or, you know, whatever.

Maybe the first official poster will darkly co-opt 'Sex and the City''s tagline of "Get Carrie-d Away!" Us girls can dream, right?

The original film, starring Sissy Spacek in the title role, was released in 1976. Based on the novel by Stephen King, 'Carrie' tells the story of a teenage girl from a repressive Christian household. Tormented by her peers, the girl snaps and discovers she has telekinetic powers and then uses them to get revenge on her snotty classmates. Oh, and the whole thing starts because she gets her period, once again proving that all that lady business is to blame for all the evil in the world.
