Netflix has been curiously quiet about its animated Castlevania series, leaving most of the promotion to executive producer Adi Shankar. Now, even the first trailer has come from an unlikely source, in the process confirming a July premiere.

First debuting footage over their Latin America Twitter account, Netflix came forth with an extended look at its animated take on Castlevania, complete with video game intro. Additionally, all episodes are now confirmed to premiere on July 7.

Adapting the plot of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, the four-part, half hour-broken “Part 1” season follows the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, as he tries to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad “Dracula” Tepes. The series is also said to be “rated R,” and done in the vein of Game of Thrones.

Adventure Time executive producer Fred Seibert helms the series with Shankar, having previously hinted over Nickelodeon’s Nick Animation Podcast that his studio was finally able to act on rights to a video game property held in their possession for twelve years.

We’ll see what else Netflix has to offer before the July 7 premiere, so stay tuned.
