It's interesting to see how Warner Bros. is marketing their upcoming release, 'Cloud Atlas,' since it's obvious that it isn't an easy sell. A multi-layered, time-jumping, 164-minute epic that combines elements of several different genres, has a big cast filled with recognizable name, but it's not even close to a sure thing at the box office. Now, with the release of a couple of new TV spots for the film, we can see two different ways WB is going about pitching this unique picture. Check out both ads after the jump.

The first preview you see below gives 'Cloud Atlas' something of a futuristic thriller vibe, appealing to the sensibilities of a more mainstream audience. The second spot displays the same sweeping, majestic vision that the original trailer sold us; it makes it clear this is an ambitious and complicated journey.

Directed by Tom Tykwar and The Wachowskis, and starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant, 'Cloud Atlas' opens on October 26.
