Comic-Con 2012: Edgar Wright’s ‘The World’s End’ a Go, Poster Released
Comic-Con 2012 just made fans of Edgar Wright's "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" very happy with an announcement from Universal Pictures that the final film in the series, 'The World's End' has been greenlit. They've even given us the first official poster for the film, which you can check out below!
Set to hit theaters in 2013, 'The World's End' was penned by Wright and long-time collaborator, Simon Pegg, who'll also appear in the film with 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' co-star, Nick Frost.
Deadline broke the news and provided a lengthy description of the film's premise:
"The film starts 20 years after five childhood friends attempted an epic pub crawl. The friends reunite when one of them becomes hell-bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries."
Pour yourself a pint and check out the first teaser poster for the film, which presumably features the names of the various pubs the crew visits on their journey to 'The World's End.'
