If you've been to Comic-Con 2012 in the last few years, you know that the 'Game of Thrones' panel can be a wonderful, if somewhat frustrating event.  Not only does the event fill up like Wildfire, but the show's summer production schedule means that there isn't very much to show in the way of new footage.  We learned earlier that one major 'Game of Thrones' cast member had to cancel her appearance, so who's the latest star to end up unable to attend only days before?

That bastard!  'Game of Thrones' fans eager to hear from series star Kit Harington (Ned Stark's bastard Jon Snow) will have a bit of disappointment to bear, as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that a recent ankle injury will render the actor unable to appear at the Comic-Con 2012 panel, taking place this Friday, July 13 in  Hall H from 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Harington is the second actor to abandon the Comic-Con 2012 panel, behind Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), whose scheduling conflict forced her to pull out and be replaced with actress Rose Leslie, portraying Jon Snow's season 2 lady-friend Ygritte.  It is not known if any 'Game of Thrones' actors will be brought in to replace Harington, the panel's lineup now consisting of Leslie, Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark).

Fortunately, Kit Harington's broken ankle did not occur during filming, and will in no way affect production of the show's third season, set to debut on HBO in April of 2013.

Bummer, but what say you?  Are you disheartened to learn that Kit won't be among the 'Game of Thrones' panelists at Comic-Con 2012?  What are you most hoping to learn from George R.R. Martin's adapted HBO series at San Diego this year?  Sound off in the comments below!
