As the buzz builds for the final Christopher Nolan-directed Batman flick 'The Dark Knight Rises,' the superhero's iconic mode of transportation -- the Batmobile -- is finally getting a little love with a new documentary that's being previewed at San Diego's Comic-Con 2012 festival on Thursday.

Coming Soon! reports that the aptly-named film, 'The Batmobile,' traces the history of the car from its inception in the 1930s to the present day, using archival footage, images and illustrations as well as interviews with filmmakers, key designers, builders, stunt drivers, actors and fans.

Personal stories will "interweave with historical context to tell the definitive story of the world's most recognized automobile," and the interviewees include 'Batman' notables such as actors Christian Bale and Adam West, and directors Christopher Nolan, Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton.

While everyone waited for the Comic-Con 2012 preview of the documentary (if you're there, head to Room 6DE Thursday night at 7 p.m.), replicas of some of the key and most iconic Batmobiles from past Batman movie installments were placed on the grounds for 'Dark Knight' fans to drool over.
