You might have heard that 'Community' season 5 will take a minor break for the next few weeks to accommodate those increasingly hilarious Sochi Olympics, but the cult NBC comedy has big plans for its return. 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' villain and 'Office' vet B.J. Novak will join the Greendale Gang for the final installments of the season, but what does his mysterious role reveal about the two-part finale?

There isn't much available on Novak's character, according to Entertainment Weekly, though we at least know Novak will turn up in the first half of the two-part finale as “a TV star in a sexy new series." Might it be the new "Inspector Spacetime" series season 4 attempted to get off the ground, gas leak year or no? And will we know by Novak's April appearance if 'Community' will return for a sixth, and presumably final season?

Of course, Novak is only the latest in a long line of season 5 guest stars, including the already-aired Nathan Fillion, ‘Justified”s Walton Goggins, returns from Rob Corddry, Brie Larson, LeVar Burton and John Oliver’s Professor Duncan. Still to come are ‘Arrested Development‘ star David Cross‘ as the onscreen son of Jonathan Banks, ‘Arrested’ creator Mitch Hurwitz as a popular Greendale student, ‘Breaking Bad’ creator Vince Gilligan as “a smooth-talking gold digger,” Chris Elliott as Greendale’s estranged founder, and Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim as associates of Dean Pelton.

NBC's Thursday night headaches have us optimistic for a season 6 renewal, but what do you think? Is Novak's turn a good sign NBC wants to continue drawing attention to the series? Watch the latest 'Community' season 5 highlights below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
