Cosplay of the Day: Howl’s Moving Romance

We've got a twofer today in the Cosplay of the Day! Here we have Sophie and Howl from Studio Ghibli's animated classic, 'Howl's Moving Castle.'

This feature-length anime film was one of the most financially successful projects in Studio Ghibli's history, and told the story of a young girl named Sophie who was suddenly cursed by a witch and became a 90-year-old woman. She sought out a cure for the curse and ran across a scarecrow who introduced her to the wizard Howl in his incredible moving castle. As they traveled together and took on many misadventures, the two became closer until Sophie realized she was in love with Howl and could literally return his heart to him. It's a long, complicated story, but one that ends with love.

Here are Benjamin Hunt and Amyjane Green as Howl and Sophie. As you can see from the comparison shots, they're both pretty spot-on with their depictions of these classic Studio Ghibli characters. It would have been interesting to see Amyjane portray Old Sophie, but this is cool too. Now if only we could see Benjamin take on Howl's bird form ...
