Many were disappointed to learn that Paget Brewster wouldn't be returning to 'Criminal Minds' as profiler Emily Prentiss, particularly after the show's seventh season had only just returned her to series regular status.  Still, having been present since 'Criminal Minds' season 2, Paget Brewster certainly has big shoes for another to fill.  Who do you think has the 'Big Love' to give?

According to the latest from TVLine, former 'Big Love' star Jeanne Tripplehorn will join 'Criminal Minds' as a series regular next season, after Paget Brewster officially departs from her long-running role.  Rather than take over for character Emily Prentiss however, Tripplehorn will play a new profiler.

Otherwise, details were rather light on Tripplehorn's new character, set to be introduced in the season 8 premiere this fall.  Tripplehorn spent 5 years as one of the lead characters of HBO's polygamy drama 'Big Love,' and was more recently seen as the ex-wife of Dylan McDermott's character on FOX's 'New Girl.'

What say you?  Are you too sad to see Paget Brewster depart (again) that you'll abandon 'Criminal Minds' altogether, or are you wiling to give Tripplehorn a shot?  Maybe now that Brewster needs work, she can join her former 'Friends' co-star Matt LeBlanc on Showtime's 'Episodes!'  Hey, we can dream.
