‘Community’ and ‘Homeland’ Win Big at 2012 Critic’s Choice TV Awards
Emmys? Feh. Tonys? Been there. Golden Globe awards, is that even still a thing? And what are these "Oscars" we keep hearing so much about? No, friends, the real action is with the 2nd Annual Critic's Choice TV Awards, held last night in Los Angeles where 'Community' was a a big winner! But, what does it mean for their potential Emmy chances?
Last night held the 2nd annual Critic's Choice TV awards out in Los Angeles, a relatively new awards group but up and coming! 'Homeland' and 'Community' pulled off some surprising upsets in the process, taking home both Best Drama and Best Comedy series over their more acclaimed peers like 'Mad Men' or 'Breaking Bad.'.
All told, NBC walked away with about 5 wins, including Best Actress in a Comedy Series, which 'Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler split with 'New Girl's Zooey Deschanel. Though it lost out to 'Homeland' for drama, 'Breaking Bad' took home both lead and supporting dramatic male awards, for both series star Bryan Cranston, and the villainous Giancarlo Esposito.
