'Dallas' Refresher: In Case You Missed The Last 30 Years...Kevin Fitzpatrick |
Like you, many of us were rather taken aback to see that TNT would pick up classic soap drama 'Dallas' for a newly revamped series. After all, these days, a large portion of the 18-34 generation would barely remember Patrick Duffy from 'Step By Step,' let along a Texas oil tycoon family soap. Well, in case you missed the show's first run 30 years ago, how about a refresher?
In order to prep viewers for their new iteration of 'Dallas,' set to debut this coming Wednesday, June 13, TNT has issues a refresher video loosely detailing the rivalries and bonds that defined the original series. In the case of certain folk who have at best a passing familiarity with the classic series, the video will definitely strike you well.
TNT’s reboot (or continuation?) of the series features original series stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray returning to the roles of J.R., Bobby and Sue Ellen, respectively. Joining the cast for this new iteration is Jesse Metcalfe (‘Desperate Housewives‘) as Bobby and Pam’s son Christopher, Josh Henderson as J.R.’s son John Ross, and Jordana Brewster (‘The Fast and the Furious’) as Elena Ramos, a ranch cook’s daughter who will be caught in a triangle with the boys. Julie Gonzalo (‘Veronica Mars’) plays Christopher’s fiancée Rebecca, while Brenda Strong takes the role of Bobby Ewing’s new wife Ann.
So on the off chance that you're not familiar with the roots of TNT's new 1978 drama, check out the below video to catch yourself up, and tell us what you think of the new series in the comments!
