Viva la revolution! The apes are still rising, in case you were wondering, and the folks behind 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,' the sequel to 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' have released a new teaser image to pique your interest.

Over on the official Facebook page for 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' the people hard at work on the sequel have released a new teaser image with the line "Evolution becomes revolution." And what's that? A chimpanzee's arm holding up a gun? This can't end very well.

UPDATE: 11/15, 6:02 p.m. -- This image posted presumably to amp us all up for 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is not an official image from the film. In fact, it's a 1992 photo of Albert Watson's hand in a monkey arm.

Director Matt Reeves ('Let Me In,' 'Cloverfield') is helming the sequel to last year's stunning 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' which told the story of a scientist's earnest attempts to cure Alzheimer's disease gone terribly wrong. A chimpanzee by the name of Caesar (Andy Serkis) undergoes a mesmerizing mental transformation, but gets too smart for his own good and winds up in a prison-like ape sanctuary, where he inspires and leads his brethren to -- well, rise, of course.

Serkis will return for the sequel to reprise the role of Caesar, and if you haven't seen his motion capture performance in the first film just yet, we assure you, it's incredible.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is currently in production and will be released in May, 2014.
