Deadpool is such a pop culture sensation that even Good Housekeeping — yes, as in the magazines your grandmother often has stacked on her doily-covered end table — is getting in on the action. The Merc With a Mouth is the special guest editor for the magazine’s upcoming holiday issue, which is, uh, stuffed with all kinds of delicious Deadpool-ized recipes and tips.

Good Housekeeping is probably the last place you’d expect Deadpool to show up in the real world, but the magazine is totally the kind of thing Ryan Reynolds’ mouthy anti-hero would keep around the house. The character is quite fond of getting in the holiday spirit, after all, and he does have a surprising proclivity for domestic pleasures for someone so skilled at gun (and profane word) play.

Here’s the full cover of the issue, which touts “Deadpool stuffs our holiday issue” and promises to teach you how to be a “holiday supper hero.” There’s also a recipe inside for something called “D’s nuts” because of course there is:

The issue is already on stands, but Collider got their hands on a few scans of the pages, which include a holiday letter written by Deadpool, a guide to carving a turkey, and a pair of recipes.

Jane Francisco, Editor in Chief of Good Housekeeping, explains how Deadpool came to be involved with this special holiday issue:

Deadpool’s persistence to be in Good Housekeeping was impressive – initially we had no idea who he was, let alone that he was a fan of the magazine. But after repeated attempts to ignore his… passion… we came to a compromise. He could appear in one issue, if he promised to stop leaving care packages at our editors’ homes and agreed to maintain a 50-foot distance from the Good Housekeeping offices and our staff.

Speaking about his guest editing gig, Deadpool says:

After years of weekly emails and countless carrier pigeons, Good Housekeeping finally returned my calls. And while it’s a dream come true, apparently we have vastly different opinions on the definition of a ‘holiday spread’…

It looks like content from the issue will be up on the Good Housekeeping website on Monday. If you head over to the site, you’ll find another image of Deadpool (below), along with a teaser message that reads, “Shhhh…. it’s about to get all steamy in this kitchen, but you need to wait until Monday. If this meat doesn’t have the proper time to rest, you’ll get a ’Pool of juices everywhere.”
