‘Deadpool’ Star Ryan Reynolds Shares a Bloody Photo From the Set
Ryan Reynolds has been doing a great job staying connected with fans from the set of Deadpool — after all, this film wouldn’t exist without the fans, who rallied for a solo Deadpool movie following the leaked test footage from last year. Reynolds has shared another new photo from the set of the upcoming film, and it’s rather bloody.
Reynolds posted the photo to his Twitter account, where he’s been keeping everyone up to date on the film’s progress. As of now, they’re halfway through filming:
The actor is bloody and beat-up in the pic, although he’s not sporting the facial scars we’ve seen his alter-ego Wade Wilson sporting in other recent set photos.
The new solo film is based on the classic Marvel comic, which follows Wilson, a Special Forces mercenary who is subjected to torturous experiments in the Weapon X program. Those experiments resulted in superhuman powers, including the ability to to heal rapidly, much like Wolverine. Given the nickname the Merc With a Mouth, Deadpool is known for his dark sense of humor and breaking the fourth wall.
The Deadpool movie co-stars Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle aka Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Ed Skrein as the villainous Ajax and newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
