Defense Grid: The Awakening is Your First Free Game with Gold

Microsoft is kicking off its Games with Gold program this month with Defense Grid: The Awakening as its very first freebie for Xbox Live Gold members.

According to Major Nelson, Defense Grid is now available and will be free for Xbox Live Gold members until July 15. The Games with Gold program offers two free games a month for Gold members, with titles being made available on the 1st and 16th of every month.

Defense Grid is normally 800 Microsoft Points, or about $10, so now would be the perfect time to grab a game for free.
