‘Deus Ex’ Movie to Be Helmed by ‘Sinister’ Director
Are you ready to find out which video game will be next to get the movie adaptation treatment? Well, look no further than the beloved 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution,' which will be translated to the big screen with the help of the man who helmed 'Sinister,' Scott Derrickson.
CBS Films announced via press release today that one of the top-selling video game series on the market, 'Deus Ex,' is being adapted into a feature film. If you are one of the many gamer fans who probably prayed for this, then we have one other thing to mention -- we hope you enjoyed that movie 'Sinister.' Why? Because Scott Derrickson, the director for that horror flick, will be taking over the same role in the 'Deus Ex' movie. Other bodies attached to the project are C. Robert Cargill, with whom Derrickson is writing the script, producers Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh, and executive producer John P. Middleton.
Aside from incredible graphics, the latest edition to the 'Deus Ex' gaming series 'Human Revolution' has a story line fit for the big screen: ex-SWAT security specialist Adam Jensen is living in a futuristic world where human augmentation has become commonplace and he must embrace the technology in order to unravel a global conspiracy. It's this game that will serve as the basis for the film.
"'Deus Ex' is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence,” said Derrickson. “By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, 'Deus Ex' is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can't wait to bring it to the big screen."
