After being one of the most consistent and winning goaltenders in the modern NHL, Martin Brodeur has finally turned his talent into a starring role on the NHL 14 cover.

The final vote came down to Brodeur and Columbus' netminder, Sergei Bobrovsky, who was obviously eliminated during the final round. This is the first time since since NHL 97 that a goalie will appear on the cover, which is a pretty momentous honor given the circumstances.

"The support I've received throughout the cover vote campaign has been incredible," said Brodeur. "My kids pushed me to participate in the campaign, and they are really excited to see their dad on the cover of the game they play all the time. I want to thank all the NHL fans who campaigned and voted for me."

NHL 14 will be available Sep. 10, which will be just ahead of the upcoming hockey season. Did you vote for Brodeur, and if not, will you still get the game even though he's on the cover?
