DirecTV is the latest big player to get into the original programming game, ordering up ten episodes of suspense-thriller,"Rogue," starring Thandie Newton.

"Crash" star, Newton will play Grace, "a morally and emotionally conflicted cop, tormented by the possibility her own actions contributed to her son's death."  Grace's quest for answers is complicated by her forbidden relationship with the crime boss who may have had something to do with the loss of her son.

"Rogue" was created by Matthew Parkhill and is executive producer by "Killing Bono" director, Nick Hamm, Steven Marrs, John Morayniss and Michael Rosenberg.

Though DirecTV played home to "Friday Night Lights" and currently airs former FX drama legal drama, "Damages," "Rogue" will mark the satellite TV providers first foray into original programming.

"Rogue" is set to premiere in the summer of 2013 on DirecTV's Audience Network.
