Our biggest takeaway from Marvel’s special IMAX preview of Doctor Strange was just how impressive and immersive all those world-bending, inter-dimensional sequences are on the big screen. You really only get a small taste of how bold those scenes are in the previews, like the latest international trailer for the new film, but a pair of newly-released blacklight posters are definitely in keeping with that psychedelic, third-eye-opening bent.

Words like “trippy” and “psychedelic” are going to get thrown around a lot in reviews of the mystical new superhero film, in which Benedict Cumberbatch makes his MCU debut as the Sorcerer Supreme. And rightfully so — from what we saw in the 15-minute IMAX sneak peek, director Scott Derrickson’s film is fully committed to exploring concepts of space and time, multiple dimensions and theoretical physics. You know, basic stuff. (Also the sort of stuff one might contemplate when consuming actual psychedelic substances.)

So these new blacklight posters, which debuted over at IGN, are quite appropriate for Doctor Strange. As an interesting side note, Marvel manufactured a series of blacklight posters back in the ’70s, and after a long search, Derrickson was able to locate and purchase the Doctor Strange poster for himself — which also makes these new posters a nice throwback:
