It’s going to be a while before we see the first teaser for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, which doesn’t hit theaters until next November. It’s likely we’ll get one later this year or early next, with a full trailer attached to Captain America: Civil War, but until then, you can enjoy this fan-made teaser, which actually seems like a fairly accurate representation of what the legitimate teaser might be.

Incorporating various footage from other properties, this fan teaser features Benedict Cumberbatch rocking a mustache and goatee (a combo no one should ever possess, but this is a world of make-believe and superheroes), with brief scenes of his life as Stephen Strange, brilliant surgeon. I especially like the blood dripping from his fingers. There’s also a shot of Tilda Swinton in there, looking particularly majestic and otherworldly in her role as the Ancient One.

But what this teaser really, really gets right is playing into the current, exhausted trend of using a slowed-down version of a popular song — in this instance, it’s an eerie music box version of the Doors’ “People Are Strange.” That’s in keeping with the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, which used a slowed-down, haunting version of “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinocchio.

For more on the played out trend of trailers using down-tempo versions of popular songs, our own Matt Singer compiled a list of the more notorious examples.
