Doctor Who disappointed a few fans last year with news that the longrunning BBC sci-fi would sit out Comic-Con for a world press tour introducing Peter Capaldi’s new iteration to the world, but with Season 9 on the horizon, Doctor Who is coming right back where he belongs. Get your first hint of what to expect when The Doctor graces San Diego once more this summer!

Per The BBC’s official announcement, Peter Capaldi will make his Comic-Con debut in Hall H with a July 9 Doctor Who panel, unusually taking place on a Thursday, rather than the show’s usual Sunday slot. Also on hand will be Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald), Michelle Gomez (Missy), lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat and executive producer Brian Minchin.

Said Capaldi (somewhat) optimistically of his first Comic-Con appearance;

Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world. It’s become a fabled kingdom. One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H, is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from.

Premiering this fall with two-part installment “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar,” Doctor Who Season 9 will feature among its guest stars Game of Thrones favorite Maisie Williams, Rufas Hound, Tom Stourton, Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, John Voce, Struan Rodger, Jemma Redgrave, Kelly Hunter, Clare Higgins, Jaye Griffiths, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Jami Reid-Quarrell, Aaron Neil, India Ria Amarteifio, Joey Price, Dasharn Anderson, Harki Bhambra, Demi Papaminas, and a returning Michelle Gomez.

Time will tell what we learn from Doctor Who’s Comic-Con 2015 return, but what secrets might Season 9 have to offer this fall?
