Fans of Sylvester Stallone’s shout-out to the beloved actioneers of the '80s and '90s, ‘The Expendables’, will remember Dolph Lundgren’s Gunnar Jensen as the good guy gone bad…and completely insane.

For the second installment in the franchise, 'The Expendables 2', Jensen’s crazy gets a bit more cuddly and a whole lot more interesting. Stallone incorporated an element from Lundgren’s own life into the story that revitalizes and expands Jenson’s role in the ‘Expendables’ universe.

In the sequel, the original team, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren), Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) is joined by fan favorites such as Chuck Norris and Liam Hemsworth, as well as Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in larger roles, on a mission to avenge the death of one of their own and open a can of 'allow me to demonstrate how we do it in Brooklyn' on the central antagonist: Jean-Claude Van Damme.

And Jensen is there to offer his own particular brand of hilarious, manic and often frightening expertise.

We had the opportunity to speak with Lundgren recently about the possibly of a Mensa eligible butt-kicking hero, his all time favorite action icon and classic one-liners.

Take a look at the video interview below.

‘The Expendables 2’ opens in theatres this Friday, August 17th.
