Due out in a few months, Vanillaware's Dragon's Crown promises to bring all sorts of old-school side-scrolling action to the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita. Even though we have to wait a while for the game to arrive, the good news is Atlus will be releasing free downloadable content for Dragon's Crown when it arrives.

Available free starting on August 6, and lasting through September 6, the voice pack DLC will allow you to change the voice of the Dragon's Crown narrator to the voice of one of the game's actual protagonists. Included will be the Amazon, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Sorceress, and Wizard. All six will replace the narrator entirely with their own respective styles throughout the entirety of the game.

If you happen to pick up Dragon's Crown after that first month, the DLC will still be available, though it won't be free anymore. The voice pack will retail for $1.99 after the exclusive free period ends. That's still not a bad deal, but if you can get it for free, why wait? Even if you don't think you'll be getting the game at launch, it couldn't hurt to download the add-on while it's free. You can always scrap it later if you don't end up using it.

Which of the voices do you think you'll be swapping with the narrator when Dragon's Crown is released?
