Aardman Animations, the folks who brought us Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, and Wallace & Gromit, are back with another delightful feature about a young caveman whose way of life is on the brink of extinction. Early Man stars the voice talents of Eddie Redmayne as Stone Age caveman Dug whose tribe is caught between one era of man and another wielding weapons made of metal, mammoths, and soccer.

Early Man is set at the cusp of the Bronze Age, when the age of cavemen is over and civilizations have begun to emerge. Dug and his tribe of animal pelt-clad misfits must join forces against the tyrannical Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston, of all people, doing a thick French accent) to survive.

Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of how plucky caveman Dug (voiced by Eddie Redmayne), along with sidekick Hognob, unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.

Timothy Spall, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, Selina Griffiths, and Richard Ayoade also star in Early Man, due out in theaters January 2018.
