It's been a while since Neill Blomkamp hit the big time with 2009's 'District 9,' the Best Picture-nominated low-budget found-footage sci-fi film that proved a huge hit when released. We've been waiting to see how Blomkamp worked within the Hollywood system, and we'll find out when 'Elysium' hits screens in 2013. But until then, here's a look at Sharlto Copley's character in the film.

Copley got the star treatment after 'District 9' as he was brought over to America for 'The A Team,' and he was a lot of fun in the movie, but it seems that it took a while after that experience for him to find his bearings. That said, he's got four movies due out in 2013, including this and the Spike Lee remake of 'Oldboy,' and will also appear in 2014's 'Maleficent.'

Here's the synopsis for 'Elysium.' The film hits theaters August 9, 2013:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
