'Amazing Spider-Man 2' may be a few years off yet, but star Emma Stone already has some ideas on her character for the sequel. Specifically, she wants to die.

Stone spoke with Interview magazine (where she was interviewed by director Cameron Crowe) and the topic eventually turned to 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' and the future of her character. [If you're unfamiliar with the comic books, you might want to steer clear because there are some spoilers ahead.]

In the comics, Stone's character Gwen Stacy is killed when the Green Goblin throws her off the top of a bridge. Green Goblin has been rumored to be the villain in 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' which has led to much speculation as to whether the movie version of Gwen Stacy will also die. Will the studio consider killing off their female lead? "I'm hoping they are," Stone says.

Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident. So the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing....But, of course, I want to stay true to that.

It's a ballsy move for a movie studio to not only kill off a major character in a superhero movie essentially aimed at kids and even more so, killing off a character played by an actor as likable and popular as Emma Stone. Also compounding the issue is the palpable chemistry between Stone and co-star Andrew Garfield (who she's dating in real life). Without those two in your 'Spider-Man' movie, will it still work?

Personally, we agree with Stone: the Death of Gwen Stacy needs to be told on film and hopefully director Marc Webb and writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will bring that storyline to the big screen.
