And lo, it has all come down to this. The absence of Game of Thrones from 2017 eligibility left the field wide open for Outstanding Drama Series, and a new winner has been (figuratively) crowned. The Handmaid’s Tale has taken home the top award at the 2017 Emmys.

Darling Elisabeth Moss ran right back out to the stage after winning her own Outstanding Lead Actress award; soon joined by the cast, showrunner Bruce Miller, and author Margaret Atwood herself. Miller jokingly thanked Hulu for letting them “do horrible things to Rory Gilmore,” succinctly adding at the end “Go home, get to work, we have a lot of things to fight for.”

Tonight’s other nominees included Netflix’s House of Cards, The Crown and first-time nominee Stranger Things, AMC’s Better Call Saul, HBO’s Westworld and NBC’s This Is Us, Last year, Game of Thrones took home the honor.

Well, did The Handmaid’s Tale deserve the win? Who got snubbed the hardest, and who should have been given a chance to break into the category? Be sure to check out our master list of tonight’s winners, and stay tuned for more  from the 2017 Emmy Awards!
