Nearly 30 years after its initial publication, 'Ender's Game' is finally getting the blockbuster Hollywood adaptation that it has always demanded. With the November 1 release date too distant for a full trailer but too close for total silence, Summit has released a new image featuring Hailee Steinfeld's Petra Arkanian ('Ender's Game' is going to give 'The Hunger Games' a run for its money in the wacky names department) as well as the logos for each of the "Battle School" armies featured in the film.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, 'Ender's Game' takes place after Earth has barely survived a brutal war with an alien race. Knowing that they can't risk that kind of devastation again, the military now recruits young children into "Battle School," where they are trained and pitted against each other in war games in order to suss out the most promising future soldiers and tacticians. Our lead character is Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield of 'Hugo' fame), a young boy who proves to be something of a prodigy in the art of war. To say more would be getting into spoiler territory.

We've already seen Butterfield as Ender and Harrison Ford as his recruiter, Colonel Graff (see the image shown above), but the new image gives us our first look (via EnderWiggen.net) at the Steinfeld as Ender's friend and fellow student, Petra. Check it out below:

Elsewhere on the internet, four 'Ender's Game' fansites unveiled the logos for the four Battle School armies (the teams students are split into so they can train for combat against one another). In order, check out the logo for the Rat Army, the Salamander Army, the Asp Army and the Dragon Army.

If you think this film sounds like a combination of 'The Hunger Games' and 'Harry Potter,' that's because it does...except that it predates those franchises by a decade or two. This November, we'll see if it can match the success of those two blockbuster series.
