We haven't heard much about 'Epic' around here -- the new film from Blue Sky Studios, the people who brought you 'Ice Age' and 'Rio' -- but thanks to this new trailer, we have a better idea of what this film is about... well, sort of.

GMA has the exclusive trailer debut, which we've embedded below. 'Epic' stars the vocal talents of Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, and Beyonce Knowles.

It's a story about a teenage girl (Seyfried) who is seemingly miniaturized and transported to a tiny forest world filled with flower people and talking slugs and little hummingbirds with saddles. It's kind of like the most adorable thing a five year old girl would talk about. Once in the forest world, the girl must help the little people fight off some sort of threat (it's vague here) in order to save their world and ours.

Unfortunately the trailer shows very little, which is to be expected since the film doesn't release until next May (in 3D, of course). Instead we get some pretty awful, generic music and sweeping looks at some of the more whimsical aspects. We admit -- we're intrigued by the world that's been created here, but the magic is sapped a little once the characters start talking to each other. Hopefully we'll get a more well-rounded look at 'Epic' soon.
