Lots of New Footage in This Extended ‘Spectre’ TV Spot

During Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night, Sony Pictures covertly dropped an extended new TV spot for the upcoming 24th James Bond film, Spectre. Normally this type of footage would be accompanied by lots of announcements and teases on social media, but Sony played the spy card and went covert. There was no fanfare, no big announcements, but there was a lot of exciting new footage from the movie.

The first half of this new commercial is footage you’ve already seen from the film’s first trailer. The last 30 seconds plays out with all new footage and show’s off a lot of the film’s action, including a Bond running through a Dia de los Muertos and a car chase between Bond and Hinx (Dave Bautista). It ends with a (sexy) confrontation between Monica Bellucci and Daniel Craig that is pretty much classic James Bond stuff:

“If you don’t leave now, you’re going to get hurt, Mr. —”

“Bond. James Bond.”

What you don’t get in this footage is a good look at Christoph Waltz’s Franz Oberhauser, who many believe is actually Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE. Recent set photos have shown Waltz with CGI markers on his face, likely to add the facial scarring Blofeld is noted for in post-production. But, this could all be some clever misdirection on the part of director Sam Mendes to make you think Oberhauser is Blofeld when it’s just a diversion. Or, maybe we’re overthinking this whole thing!

Spectre opens in theaters on November 6.
