Though only a few weeks have passed since 'Falling Skies' ended its piece-shifting season 3 finale, "Brazil," production on season 4 has already picked back up for the next year of human-alien action. TNT has released the first new photo from the season, as well as an early look behind the scenes of production and a taste of the guest stars to come!

Via TVGuide, we've learned that the 'Falling Skies' season 4 premiere will bear the title "Ghost in the Machine," and see Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) apparently come to grips with the idea that his hybrid daughter Alexis (Erika Forest) seems to have returned from captivity a full six years older, and with mysterious abilities. The behind-the-scenes look at production also shows off a bit of new scenery for the 2nd Mass. out on the run, though not without its own chaos as the rebel group hides from a massive explosion!

Along with the news that 'Falling Skies' season 4 will increase to 12 episodes from the usual 10, the TNT alien actioner has also added its first new guest star in Moon Bloodgood's former 'Terminator: Salvation' co-star Treva Etienne, who will play new addition to the resistance Dingaan Botha.

As for the rest of 'Falling Skies' season 4, we know that new showrunner David Eick might plan a similar time jump to the seven-month leap that preceded season 3, potentially getting around to reveal the alien Espheni’s true intentions for invading Earth. Tom will deal with the mystery of Anne and Alexis' strange return, while Gloria Reuben (Marina Perlata) and Ben’s friend Deni (Megan Danso) will likely return for the fourth season. Actor Doug Jones (Cochise) has a three-season option, though his character's position at the climax of season 3 could see Jones portraying other alien characters, or even a human in the future.

You can get your first look at 'Falling Skies' season 4 in the teaser featurette (above) and photo (below), and give us your predictions for the 2014 run in the comments!
