Up until the first teaser trailer was released last month, we weren’t quite sure what to expect from Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The director previously revealed that his new film was inspired in part by the works of David Cronenberg, which is certainly intriguing. Aside from that first peek, we’ve been mostly in the dark about the reboot, which hits theaters in just six months. Today brings a quartet of new images from the film featuring the four main heroes, and oh, we see what they did there.

Each of the four heroes—Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm—gets their very own photo in the new set of stills which debuted over at Empire along with a new interview with Trank. In that interview, Trank further elaborates on the tone of the reboot, calling it a “dark Amblin movie.”

In the new images above, we see Michael B. Jordan in his superhero suit as Johnny aka the Human Torch, and Kate Mara’s Sue aka the Invisible Woman looking mighty fierce among…a bunch of debris? Bodies? It’s difficult to tell.

Then there’s Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm aka The Thing, tinkering with a bicycle because why not? And finally, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, and it appears as though he’s looking at something a bit troubling. You might also notice Tim Blake Nelson in the background of that photo—he’s playing Harvey Elder, also known as Mole Man in the comics. It’s been previously reported that Elder won’t become Mole Man in this film, which already features Toby Kebbell as Dr. Doom. Speaking of which, we haven’t really gotten a look at Kebbell as the iconic villain just yet. Perhaps they’re saving that reveal for the movie.

Fantastic Four hits theaters on August 7.
