We're excited for 'Fast and Furious 6' - very excited. (Seriously, did you see that trailer?) But one movie that could get us just as excited, if not more, than 'Fast and Furious 6' would be a spinoff starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his Hobbs character. And it just so happens that The Rock says that such a movie is something they're planning.

The Rock is currently over in London promoting 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' but of course it was only a matter of time before the discussion turned to 'Fast and Furious 6.' That's exactly what happened in this interview with Empire when Johnson was asked about starring in a spinoff:

Possibly after ['Fast and Furious 7']....That's the goal. We continue to build that character and take shape but...yes.

The idea would be that after the next 'Fast and Furious' movie, The Rock and Gina Carano (his co-star in 'Fast and Furious 6') would spinoff into a movie about their characters, bounty hunters for hire.

Johnson has long been the best part of movie ensembles but when he's tried to be the starring role in a film, the results haven't always been great. But here you have, what we think, would be the perfect starring role for The Rock and the perfect way to launch his own franchise. We know we're already excited to think about a series of movies about Hobbs kicking ass. They could even use his infamous line from 'Fast Five' ("stay the f--- out of my way") as the tagline.

What do you think? With 'Fast and Furious 6' (and 7) on the horizon, do you like the idea of The Rock's Hobbs getting his own movie? Could it work without having Vin Diesel?
