We really should have something like The Graham Norton Show over here in the U.S. — it’s less formal and formulaic, and far more entertaining than our typical late night offerings. It’s a show where guests like Kurt Russell and Tina Fey can just hang out and talk and goof off and do amazing things like recreate the famous “I love you” scene from The Empire Strikes Back.

Before Russell and Fey get to recreating that iconic moment, Norton sets it up by asking Russell about his audition for Star Wars. Like most actors in his age range back in the ’70s, Russell auditioned for George Lucas’ epic sci-fi film, revealing that he actually tried out for both Luke Skywalker and Han Solo — but Lucas was taking a while to make a casting decision, and Russell needed to, you know, work. Norton ribs Russell a bit for choosing another film over a potential role in Star Wars, and that’s when some magic happens.

If you’ve ever wanted to know what Kurt Russell’s Han Solo would have been like, this is the closest we’ll ever get. Star Wars fan and occasional Princess Leia cosplayer Tina Fey pairs up with Russell to deliver their own version of that classic Empire Strikes Back scene, in which Leia tells Han she loves him and he says, well…you know.

The duo get a little assistance from British comedian / writer Josh Widdicombe in the role of Chewbacca, adding the perfect ending to this amazingly perfect mini-remake. We’re all thankful for Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, but imagine a world in which Kurt Russell was Han Solo — he would have been so great!
