How iconic is the climax of 'Carrie'? So iconic that all you have to do is put a bunch of blood on a distressed teenage girl and everyone with even a slight knowledge of the horror genre will put two and two together. The first 'Carrie' poster for Kimberly Peirce's remake/re-adaption of 'Carrie' knows this and simply presents us with a blood drenched Chloe Grace Moretz, sans title.

This is the international poster for the Spring 2013 release and it premiered at NYCC today (and was originally posted online over at Dark Horizons). Even if you don't immediately recognize the imagery, it's certainly a striking image. It's takes a certain amount of nerve to advertise your film with a tagline, a grisly image and release date and they've pulled it off. Consider us teased!

The film is still months away, but we have a good feeling about this one. Moretz is an absurdly talented young woman (and unlike Sissy Spacek, who played the role for Brian DePalama, she's the proper age) and Peirce is the right director to capture the day-day-horrors of Carrie White's repressed existence. Whether she'll have a firm handle on the grisly mayhem that ensues when the title character starts manifesting psychic powers is still up in the air.

What do you think of the poster?
