‘RoboCop’ First Look: See the New Suit in Action

Well, that didn't take long: the controversial remake of 'RoboCop' started production today and we already have our first look at star Joel Kinnaman in his suit.

Both images originated over at Coming Soon and even though they're only hasty paparazzi style snapshots, they showcase just how different this version of the character will be. We already knew we were in for something of a left turn with this movie and this only confirms it: the new Alex Murphy looks like a cross between Batman and 'Halo's Master Chief, a cyborg cop for the 21st century. It doesn't have the immediate charm of the original suit, but if their goal was "slick, modern and able to turn the heads of XBox-playing teens," they've certainly succeeded.

The new 'RoboCop' is being directed by phenomenal Brazilian director Jose Padilha (making his American debut) and is scheduled for a August 9, 2013. What do you think of the new suit?
