It took curiously long into Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 for Wentworth Miller to finally take up that “franchise regular” contract, but his appearance in trailers for next week’s Flash made even less sense. Now, an extended sneak peek reveals the Legends of Tomorrow of it all, with a big nod to last year’s crossover.

As we saw with Tuesday’s “Cause and Effect,” the only power-source big enough to imprison Savitar is the Dominator battery swiped from this past year’s “Invasion!” crossover, and currently guarded by King Shark. Barry will need a master thief to retrieve the device, but the Captain Cold we knew is still dead after Legends Season 1, with the Season 2 version returned to his own point in the timeline.

As we see in a quick shot from next week’s “Infantino Street,” however, this Captain Cold is one Barry borrows from Snart’s time in the Waverider during Legends Season 1, presumably without running afoul of any other members. We’d also guess that A.R.G.U.S. is the one behind King Shark being used as a “guard dog,” given Lyla Diggle’s presence in last week’s sizzle reel.

Meanwhile, here’s how The Flash describes Season 3’s penultimate episode, “Infantino Street” (named for the site of Iris’ murder, and comic book artist Carmine Infantino):

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS; WENTWORTH MILLER RETURNS AS CAPTAIN COLD

With only 24 hours left until Savitar murders Iris (Candice Patton), Barry (Grant Gustin) struggles to save the woman he loves and makes the choice to use any means necessary to do so. Realizing he has one option left to save her, The Flash turns to Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) for help.
