Flash fans have been waiting since at least Season 2 to see Caitlin Snow go full Killer Frost, and Season 3 promised early on that she and Vibe would go head-to-head. Now, a new synopsis for the first May episode could explain Cisco’s cryptic future vision, if not spell Caitlin’s exit from the team.

The CW released its first synopsis for May 2 outing “I Know Who You Are,” which follows the future Flash-ing “Once and Future Flash” on April 25. That promo seemed to spell Caitlin’s turn as Killer Frost lasting as long as 2024, though the following week’s synopsis at least gives her a chance:

VIBE FACES OFF AGAINST KILLER FROST – Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team meet Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek), a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cecile’s (guest star Danielle Nicolet) relationship takes a big turn.

Mind you, The Flash has been teasing a Caitlin-Cisco fight since as far back as November’s “Shade,” and any number of alternate explanations might allow a (costumed?) Killer Frost and Vibe to throw powers back and forth in the woods. Some baddies are invisible, after all.

In any case, we’ll get a taste of Killer Frost’s future with “The Once and Future Flash,” the trailer for which you can find below.
