Network TV will get its fall 2015 premiere on all through the week, but poor Barry Allen will wait for October to debut The Flash Season 2. Thankfully, there’s an all-new preview to tide us over, including new looks at fellow speedster Jay Garrick, big bad Zoom, and all manner of new Season 2 footage.

iTunes debuted a lengthy new preview of The Flash Season 2 (albeit one you’ll have to download, or pay no attention to this link right here), chock full of new footage, and even a recreation of the classic “Flash of Two Worlds” comic cover that The CW previously paid homage to. In addition to a bit of insight into Barry’s new ladyfriend Patty Spivot, the featurette also points out a comic image of new big bad Zoom, which may offer something of a clue into the character’s live-action “Speed Demon” look.

So reads the CW’s premiere synopsis of “The Man Who Saved Central City”:

BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN

Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.

Thus far, we know of The Flash Season 2 that The Messengers alum Shantel VanSanten will guest as DC character and Barry’s new love interest Patty Spivot, joining Masters of Sex alum Teddy Sears as Golden Age speedster Jay Garrick, Tony Todd as the voice of big bad Zoom, Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Adam “Edge” Copeland’s Atom Smasher, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick and Demore Barnes as Firestorm villain Tokamak. We’ll also see the returns of Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold and Golden Glider (including their father), and likely others, while both Barry (and Jay!) have some spiffy new duds.
