Turn 10 Studios is taking the development of Forza Motorsport 5 to the limit, and will have a major update ready for the game on its release date everyone will have to download in order to play.

Speaking with IGN, Dan Greenawalt, studio head at Turn 10 Studios, discussed the day one update, and how crucial it is for Forza 5.

“So when you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in,” Greenawalt said. “And when you log in you’re going to get the Drivatars and you’re also going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars. Our production schedule is such that we are putting them in as late as possible and that means making them free as downloadable content on Day One."

Greenawalt added the game was designed to run with all that content not matter how late it was delivered, which actually gives Turn 10 more time to make Forza 5 the "biggest game possible." None of this would even be happening if it wasn't for the impressive cloud power of the Xbox One, though some fans may be disappointed to learn they'll need to connect to the internet at least once to even be able to play Forza 5.

Hopefully other Xbox One developers won't have similar surprises in store for prospective buyers. What do you think of the news you won't be able to play Forza 5 without going online the first time you play?
