DC owned the week in TV, first debuting a brand-new trailer for FOX's 'Gotham' before issuing pickups for 'The Flash,' 'Constantine' and 'iZombie,' so what's one more? We've seen a few photos of the 'Gotham' cast brooding about the city before, but now you can check out the Batman prequel drama's cast of characters assembled together for the first time in a brand-new photo!
There are definitely at least a few Easter eggs buried in the first cast photo for FOX's 'Gotham,' and not just the penguin graffitied over Robin Taylor's Oswald Cobblepot, because the rat symbolizes obviousness. Near as we can tell, it's also our first official key art look at Cory Michael Smith's Edward Nygma and a young Poison Ivy, neither of which were previously considered series regulars, at least enough to appear in key art.
FOX’s ‘Gotham’ will explore “the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the villains that made Gotham famous,” with its pilot featuring Gordon’s investigation of the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. The pilot was written and executive produced by Bruno Heller (‘The Mentalist’), along with Warner Bros. Television, and directed by ‘Judge Dredd’ helmer Danny Cannon. It has been confirmed that ‘Gotham’ will not have any direct ties to Ben Affleck‘s take on the Dark Knight for ‘Man of Steel’ follow-up film ‘Batman vs. Superman‘ or The CW’s ‘Arrow‘ series.
Elsewhere, we’ve already seen first official looks at Robin Taylor’s Oswald Cobblepot, Sean Pertwee’s Alfred Pennyworth, Camren Bicondova’s Selina Kyle and Donal Logue’s Detective Harvey Bullock. We also know the show will feature David Mazooz as Bruce Wayne, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, Drew Powell as Mooney’s other associate Butch Gilzean, ‘Burn Notice‘ star Zabryna Guevara as Gordon’s GCPD boss Captain Essen, and Erin Richards as Gordon’s fiancée Barbara Kean.
