FOX returning ‘24’ as event series ‘Live Another Day’ proved a reasonably successful gamble, but fans of ‘The X-Files’ and ‘Prison Break’ may have much more reason to celebrate. The network has confirmed the possibility of returning either series (or both) for limited runs, even commenting on the fate of future ‘24.’

Speaking from the TCA Press Tour panel, FOX bosses Gary Newman and Dana Walden confirmed that they’d had “some conversations on ‘X-Files,’” namely the idea of returning the sci-fi drama for a limited run. Only days ago, series star Gillian Anderson similarly got in on fan rallying cries to revive the series urging tweets to FOX in support of another season, or ultimately a film.

And while no direct conversations have yet taken place, Walden and Newman also expressed their interest in potentially reviving ‘Prison Break’ for an event season, an especially apt topic with series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell guesting on ‘The Flash’ next week. Miller too has recently alluded to talks about a ‘Prison Break’ revival, but only in speculative early conversation sense.

That said, ‘24'’s future might prove somewhat murkier, as the executives floated the idea of continuing the series without Kiefer Sutherland, saying “”We have no current plans although we’re in discussions with the creative team there. We would love nothing more than to do another ‘24.’”

Well, what do you think? Would you want to see ‘The X-Files’ return for an event series, rather than a third movie? What about ‘Prison Break’ or ‘24: Live Another Day?’
