A dog is known as man's best friend, the most faithful companion that walks on all fours. Nothing can keep a little boy away from his dog, which is done to quite a degree in Tim Burton's stop-motion animated feature 'Frankenweenie.'

For those of you who may not know, 'Frankenweenie' was made into a short film once before. In fact it was the last one that filmmaker Tim Burton did before he hit the big time with 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure.' Now he's come full circle to his earlier material and brings back one of his best short films and spreads it out into what looks like a really cute stop-motion animated feature.

'Frankenweenie' centers on young Victor (voiced by Charlie Tahan) who brings his best friend and dog Sparky back to life through his own science experiment. When the experiment is a success, Victor has no idea what kind of obstacles are ahead of him just for bringing his beloved pooch back from the grave. The rest of the voice cast includes Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Winona Ryder, Christopher Lee and many others.

Keep your eyes out for 'Frankenweenie' when it comes out in theaters everywhere on October 5, 2012, presented in 2D and 3D. Take a look at Disney's new poster for the film below and let us know what you think of it.
