Freddy Krueger is another iconic villain of horror -- a man accused of doing some horrible things to kids and was subsequently trapped in a boiler room by the local townspeople and burned alive. Equipped with a glove that has knives for fingers, Krueger stalks the dreams of teenagers and murders them while they sleep. A guy who gives you nightmares and murders you in what should be a safe and happy sleep place? That definitely qualifies Krueger for our list.
