For a final season that should be shedding more mystery than it creates, we found ourselves rather baffled yesterday when 'Fringe' season 5 introduced a new viral campaign urging vieweres to "trust the tapes," a strange concept given we had no idea to what tapes it referred. Now, with 'Fringe' season 5 set to debut its second episode tonight "In Absentia," what do the sneak-peek clips tell us about 'Fringe's' final season, and the mysterious tapes?

Longing to know the mysteries of 'Fringe' season 5 and the origin of the mysterious tapes we've been hearing about? Look no further! While the full episode "In Absentia" debuts tonight, FOX has issued three new clips from the final season of 'Fringe,' which illuminate both past and present alike. The first returns to the day the Observers first invaded, as this time Olivia is the one to dream of the day she and Peter lost their little girl.

The second all-new clip sees Walter once again attempting to utilize the "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11" to retrieve the scrambled plans from within his own mind, with typical Walter Bishop results. But as Olivia points out, doesn't Walter almost always have a back-up plan? Finally, the third clip from "In Absentia" sheds a little light on our tape mystery, as we see that Walter previously ambered a video recorder in the Harvard lab, meaning something helpful must lie within the footage!

Check out the clips below, and be sure to tune in for 'Fringe's "In Absentia" tonight on FOX! Give us your theories in the comments!
