'The Americans' Season 2 Premiere Photos: The "Comrades" Return, Wigs and AllKevin Fitzpatrick |
Regardless of the headlines coming out of Russia at the moment, FX's cold war drama 'The Americans' season 2 return is no joke. Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys will reprise their roles as undercover Russian agents Elizabeth and Philip Jennings on February 26, horrendous wigs and all, and we've got the first photos from season 2 premiere "Comrades"!
Much as we saw from the most recent trailers, it looks as if the Jennings' children will enter the line of fire this season, as the photos from "Comrades" show an ordinary day at the fair for the family going awry by the looks on Philip and Elizabeth's faces. Young Paige is nowhere to be found (poking around in the laundry room again?), while another shot sees Philip in yet another wig while undercover.
Says FX of 'The Americans' Season 2 premiere "Comrades":
Elizabeth comes back from her injury and straight into what should have been a routine mission – but it goes awry, leaving her and Philip in fear not only for themselves but for their whole network… and family. Paige's suspicions have only grown in her mother's absence. Meanwhile, Stan continues to fall for the Russian agent who has started to play him.
Relatively few details of ‘The Americans’ season 2 have emerged since the first season finale, though we know that season 1 stars Annet Mahendru (Nina), Alison Wright (Martha) and Susan Misner (Sandra Beeman) have been upped to series regulars, while Margo Martindale will return as Claudia for several episodes, despite her commitment to CBS comedy ‘The Millers.’ In addition to a lighter focus on the marital drama, we’ll also see history start to catch up with the characters a bit, notably the deaths of Leonid Brezhnev and other Soviet leaders.
We're anxious to see how the Cold War heats up this year, so take a look at 'The Americans' season 2 in the photos below, and tell us if you'll gather intelligence on the February 26 premiere!
