With all the flurry of the elections and political coverage last night, it seems FX decided to sneak in a political message of their own, albeit for a very different kind of red than the Republicans.  Instead, the pay cable network treated audiences to their first real look at its upcoming cold war Keri Russell drama 'The Americans!'  So, is the buzz-worthy new drama as sizzling as execs have promised, or does it leave us feeling out in the cold?

While the upcoming return of FX gunslinger 'Justified' has us feeling all manner of red, white and blue, there's something decidedly red about the new upcoming series 'The Americans.'  FX showed off the new promo for its Keri Russell-starring Cold War drama last night, cleverly amid all the election coverage.  Whereas the previous teaser came to us footage-free, the latest look is packed with intrigue.

Debuting in early 2013, ‘The Americans’ takes place in 1982 and follows Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell), one half of a KGB-arranged marriage planted within Washington D.C.  Her relationship with her husband Philip (Matthew Rhys) becomes increasingly tested by the Cold War’s escalation, and the associations they maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control.  Along the way, Elizabeth and Philip find their fake relationship growing more passionate and genuine on a daily basis.
