'G.I. Joe 3' can now trudge on ahead, as the follow-up to 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' has found its writer in Evan Daugherty of 'Snow White and the Huntsman.'

THR revealed Daugherty's involvement, though no details on his planned treatment have been unearthed. Aside from 'Snow White,' he's also worked on 'Killing Season' (starring Robert DeNiro and John Travolta), the upcoming young-adult franchise starter 'Divergent' (starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James) and the Michael Bay-produced 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot.

Jon M. Chu, who directed 'Retaliation,' is in the driver's seat once again for 'G.I. Joe 3' and suggests this installment will be more grand and crazy than before. He previously stated, "Now we can take the next step, now we can go on an adventure somewhere else and we can just keep building until you are literally like ‘What the hell is going on here?’"

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the film for Paramount.
