Recent weeks have seen Game of Thrones Season 6 star Ian McShane surprisingly cavalier with details of his character, especially unusual given the lengths HBO has gone to keep spoilers under wraps. Enough time has even passed that the surprise has reached McShane himself, who has a surprisingly Swearengen response to fans.

You’re warned of some prior Game of Thrones Season 6 spoilers from here on out, but the former Deadwood star has rather freely admitted his one-off Season 6 appearance will involve the return of a fan-favorite character, which most have overwhelmingly presumed as The Hound. Even George R.R. Martin hasn’t officially confirmed the character’s book fate, though McShane seemed hilariously dismissive of spoiler-phobes with the Telegraph:

You say the slightest thing and the internet goes ape. I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think get a f—ing life. It’s only tits and dragons.

Elaborating further, McShane even lobbed what might be another minor spoiler for his character:

They asked me if I wanted to do Game of Thrones and I said, ‘Sure, I’ll be able to see my old pals Charlie Dance and Stephen Dillane’ and they said, ‘No, we’ve killed them off.’ I wasn’t sure whether I could commit, but then they said it would only be for one episode, so I said, ‘So that means I must die at the end of it. Great, I’m in.’ ”

Mind you, there’s no guarantee McShane’s character actually does die within the span of his one-off appearance, but the actor isn’t about to walk back his gruff image over a few Game of Thrones tidbits. In the meantime, Season 6 will premiere on April 24.
