As with every new season of 'Game of Thrones,' HBO's adaptation will introduce a wealth of new characters in the upcoming fourth run, some of which were scheduled to arrive earlier but were left out for logistical reasons. Yet, as we prepare for the epic climax of season 3's final episodes, series creator George R.R. Martin has confirmed three major characters we'll be meeting in 'Game of Thrones' season 4!

Only two episodes and a host of blood are left in 'Game of Thrones' third season, but already fans are psyching themselves up for 2014 and the debut of the HBO drama's fourth outing. Picking up where season 3 leaves off in George R.R. Martin's epic novel "A Storm of Swords," 'Game of Thrones' season 4 has already begun the casting process for three major new roles, as revealed by io9 and Martin himself at ConQuesT in Kansas City recently:

The Magnar of Thenn. Styr is a major part of Mance Rayder's Wildling army — although a lot of his part in the book has already been given to Tormund Giantsbane. In the book, he leads the scouting party that climbs the wall, which Jon Snow and Ygritte are part of. But presumably he'll play some other huge part in the Wildling attack on Castle Black.

Mace Tyrell. The son of Lady Olenna and father of Margaery and Loras — we've already heard from Lady Olenna that he's a disappointment. Presumably coming to town for Margaery's wedding.

Oberyn Martell. The first person from Dorne we've really met — he comes to King's Landing to take a seat on the Small Council, and winds up playing a huge role in Tyrion's storyline.

Last year 'Game of Thrones' announced the casting roster for its third season during their Comic-Con panel, a process we'd expect repeated at Comic-Con 2013. What say you? Even for those familiar with the books, will 'Game of Thrones' season 4 include any other fan-favorite characters? Give us your dream castings in the comments!
